My Gear

Intro

To some extent most photographers are interested in gear. However new photographers are probably much more gear focussed than the more experienced photographer.

More experienced photographers do seem to make a big deal about gear, but only in certain contexts - they look for a bit of kit that will do a particular thing for them, in a particular way.

We newer photographers tend to be more interested in gear for gear's sake. I suspect this is because we are still finding our photographic voices and styles. Thinking and talking about gear is much easier than the hard work of actually learning the craft and developing a creative voice and style.

As a new photographer (well a retread really) I am of course vulnerable to paying attention to gear. As a bona fide geek, I am doubly vulnerable to a gear/tech obsession.

So for the benefit of those that way inclined here is a list of the gear I use (see how I am turning this around - this page is to satisfy your gear obsession, not mine).

I shoot two different camera formats and systems - the APS-C Nikon D7000 DSLR and a Micro Four Thirds Olympus OMD EM5 Mirrorless.
