Well I failed you.
OK I probably didn't fail anyone except me - I think I'm the only one who reads this tripe.
So be it.
But the simple matter is, no matter who reads it I promised more posts, more regular and failed.

Well I won't make another promise that I'll probably break again.
But I will say, that I got my smaller more protable camera back today, the Olympus EM-5 so I will have a camera more handy to my person and hope that I will manage to exploit that and generate some shots.
And then post them.

For today here's a bit of an abstract.

Railcar

"Railcar"

For users familiar with the TransAdelaide rail network, you may well work out what it is and what the various elements are.

For everyone else, just know that I was/am still - considering an abstract series of parts of my journey to/from work.
This was the first shot - actually there were a ton like this.
This is the first select for that series.

Given that I spend about 2 hours each way on public transport, I should at least have time to finish this series.
That's one of the appeals. It turns a semi boring rude home into a bit of a creative challenge.
And one thing really like about this project is there are a number of unifying visual elements across the local public transport system which should, hopefully bind the series into a more cohesive body of work.
Ha!! I even should like an artist.
"Cohesive body of work."?
What next?
An artist's statement?
OMFG.
At least I.m not a hipster.

Please leave a comment if you have an opinion related to this post/image or even previous posts/images and even the blog overall.
Not sure if I've solicited feedback before. So  I am now. Feedback welcome, good or bad, as long as it is constructive.
Actually good feedback does not have to be constructive. Good is enough.
Bad feedback - well, make it  constructive please.
You can make me cry, if you want, but your motivation needs to be purer.
So knock yourself out.

A promise.

Spawn

Hmm, well it started out with me posting more than once a week - but life caught up again and I secured employment again.
My new job (and the attendant 4 hour round trip commute) have kind of put the kai bosh on my posting frequency.

Here's one of my favourite pair of subjects - taken on the way to a trip to the library just before I rejoined the work force.

I'll try to post more frequently. I promise.
This is an important promise, because I am the only reader (as well as the only author), so it is very important to keep my promise, to me (I'm really keeping the DiY ethic alive!! ;-)) ).

Strange Terrain

Strange Terrain

"Strange Terrain" - Olympus OMD EM-5 - 1/120 ƒ/11 ISO200

The thing I like about this shot is the relative lack of straight lines.
The dominant shape in most built environments is the rectangle, the special, equilateral rectangle (i.e. the square), and the half rectangle (i.e. the triangle), all of which are of course defined by straight lines.

In this frame most of the structures have curves. That's not to say that there are no straight lines, rectangles etc, however most of the standing structures have more curves than straights or are dominated by curves - and I kind of like it.

Makes for a kind of, well, Strange Terrain.

Back Again

~
"~" - Olympus OMD EM-5 - 1/400 ƒ/1.8 ISO200

I had a job interview today.

One the way back I wandered through the Adelaide Central Market and around the square mile in general. I think I got sun burn. It's the middle of winter - it was like 18C max today, and I seemed to be sunburned. Crazy!

Anyway I shot the above image.

I also shot the below image.
Seems to be a day for backs.

Food Court

I love the tilt screen on my EM-5. It makes shots like this so much easier. You don't have to grovel around on the ground. You can just bend forward a bit and off you go.

Hello, Good Evening and Welcome.

Hello welcome to Sierra-Papa.
Yet another blog. By Yet Another Street Photographer.

This blog, will, should it survive, be the place I track my progress as a Street Photographer, from novice to whatever it is I become.
~
"~" - Olympus OMD EM-5 - 1/50 ƒ/5.6 ISO400

However since I like to shoot more than just Street and enjoy things other than photography. the blog will also probably end up covering other photography stuff too. Other genres, other photographers, gear, technique. Any or none of those things might be covered. I may even cover non photography stuff.
But for now, I anticipate it to be mainly about SP, Street or Street Photography.
Whichever you prefer.
